Island day

Before the christmas, today is quite interesting. There was a news last month about a man was suicided in a horrible way, and until now, no one can find his head. How scary! You can guess what next, we went to an island for a trip today, which the dead body was.


Anyway, that doesn't stop our great day out from school. After a long ride, when we arrived to the island that far from Hong Kong, my sunshine followed to make sure we could have a blue sky to take photos. Let's see, i think i should post all photos afterwards rather than one by one. Right, my dad told me that he went there before, like few years ago. He stayed there for a night, and i couldn't find any place for "sleeping", he asked me to take pictures for him to see the changes after years.


The whole trip actually was a boring one, so there's nothing i can describe; just being a supermodel and cameras were all facing me, nah, i'm not gonna post in here. The tour was all about some special rocks and stones in the island, they said the most special one was flied from the volcano in another island. "See, the nature power rules!"












Here is the place of emplacement to defence Hong Kong before, of course, they failed. So afterward, they went to another part of the island and built another emplacement.

Violin goes pop?

Sometimes, every single day are mostly like the same and it's really meaningless. Nothing for me to write about, talk about and think about. Anyway, i don't want a blank blog so i must find something new, interesting, even though i can't find any.

The school open day was over, and it was entirely the same as last year, yuk! The only thing was not the same is, i joined them. Well actually i should say, i became a sucker! a loser! The school orchestra now is worse than ever! i can't believe that we had just played two pieces for the long long day; one was the Symphonie No.5, man, we had already performed that last year.

You know what? That was Saturday and i went back school at 9:45, on the way, i saw another king's student crashed by a car; i didn't see the whole thingy, just heard a hard braking sound and a lying boy. The teachers ran there quickly and i went back to school soon. 45 minutes later, the shows started and surprisingly, the place we were going to play, was our school playground; With a big friendly sun, wearing a pair of long black trousers really felt warm~ it was hot!

Enough about that! Let's come back to the topic- violin. As you know, i am a old-fashioned boy, with some old-fashioned classical music. Last music lesson, after hearing the creative edition of JS Bach by King Singer, there was another edition of making classical into popular one. My first impression is not quite good, though. It crushed the classical style, and replaced by modern one.

It wasn't so bad after all; Different period has different style. In addition, after that lesson, i changed my mind that not only classical music or original is the best, but some of the new things are also creative, energetic.

After the test

What a busy week! Finally, i've just finished the uniform test and be able to take a rest. Once again i can get the mostly same result as last year, with only half day preparing one subject. Somehow i don't wanna go on like this, and a huge pressure making me to work. Since i have just lost the game with Max, the Kumon is going to have another student, giving $550 each month. Although no tutor would teach you the school works, they'll give you 100 pieces of Math practise to do within a week. I will surely improve very much but it takes me lots of time, according to the example to the one who win the game. So children, gambling is bad, gambling waste money, gambling makes human suffer, like doing Kumon. Just take a look to the logo below, see the boy face? The actual meaning of the boy face is, when you've finished all the Kumon's exercises, you will become the boy.

I've just finished the Lalo 1st, and i'm going to post my recording to here too, no matter it may sounds bad or not, just try my best. I went to the violin shop before, i bought the new E-string, meanwhile, i bought a new set of strings; the shop keeper said it sounds quite concentrate. I changed the G,D,A by my own and listened to the difference; it is a hard string! The concentrated sound is course by the hardness of the strings, i think. Anyway, it really sounds different now and i like this more. The name of the strings are called " Infeld ".

It hurts

Maybe somebody thought that piece was annoying, so i better post this quick. All right, after the third lesson of Lalo, the teacher finally wants me to finish the first movement in the next lesson, me too. She will teach me the forth movement, which is kind of easy for me because it is the Grade 8 exam piece the year after, and i've already tried at home; Not difficult, just require some practise and that's all. So i don't wanna play it, but just to show her that i am not weak, i'll probably shut up for a week. She also told me that the fifth movement is "fun to play". Yeah rigth, fun to play. I nearly told her that when i was hearing Heifetz playing that, my eyes almost drop by his skill, and the tempo was so fast that my mouth kept opening. I thought i might scare her so i didn't say anything, whatever.

Actually, now i should be practising my violin, my recovered one. Man! For the second time, i killed it in my own hands. Maybe i played too hard or something; while i was playing the hardest part of the Lalo, i heard a sudden "pung" and the E string broke off. Well, you see... "IT HURTS"



Now what! I've no spare; all i can do is sit and wait to buy another.

There is a trend of playing the dices, which of course i joined it. I bought a 3x3 dice month ago. And now, i can finally return it back within 3 minutes. "Haha, loser! I can get it within 48 seconds." laughed by a nerd today. I went " cool~ Dice-wolf ( it has a very similar sound with libidinous in Chinese) " The next thing he did was to hit me.

Continue with my musical side. On 21st October night, i watched a concert of Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra-"Four Seasons" for the concert report. That orchestra is one of the world's top Baroque Orchestra, Miss Jeanne Lamon is the Music Director and also the concertmaster, surprisingly that she was using the violin made by Santo Seraphin, the most famous violin maker in Venice in1725, and Vivaldi might had used it to perform his own work "four seasons". The sound wasn't so special but their skill really impressed me, giving me a passion to play the violin, again.

Our time has come

First of all, nice work Rabt. You made your mind and i'm not gonna ask you anything, but i just wanna tell you that you'll feel sorry about doing this. Actually, this has given me a great pressure to concentrate my thing. Also, you aren't so great at all, not for outside or inside. I thought you are kind before but surely not for now. I don't know why you're doing this and i don't wanna guess, you've just lost a friend. As you say, goodbye forever.

Return to me, i've just increase my violin knowledge. Guess what, i told you the violin had recovered by putting on a new paint. I didn't notice that part, and i crushed the second lesson. It was very slippy and i realized that it is caused by my hand oil, so now i have to wash my hand and clean that part more often.

The uniform test is coming, too fast. According the reason in the above, i think i have enough time to prepare it quite well. Just a little bit worrying the Physics, you know, that Mr. Chong... i think he is mudered.

Max and i play pieces together again, it happened last year, but he gave up with an unacceptable reason; he felt bored to play together. Nah, i can't make him to play. After a long period of time for us to improve our skills, he suggested it few days before, and we've bought a concerto of F.Mendelssohn. I really wish he won't repeat the same thing this time, i'll try my best to keep him, maybe i'll use the last ditch- the tiger get back to the ground, which i've learnt from a cartoon.

Buddy is back

Good news, my injured violin is finally back! It took them more than two weeks to work on it. Boy, i miss my violin! Even though they were definitely working too slow, when i played my violin yesterday, it sounded perfect! FANTASTIC! Maybe i should send it to the shop more often.

Finally, a great success brought my confidence back; I did a great job in the Lalo this lesson, i'd only played 2 pages out of five, though. This Saturday will be my first time spending my halloween night in Ocean Park. i think it won't be too scary, yeah Sunny, you are brave, right? well, not really...

Sure, there is at least one gay ghost for me at school, right Desmond? You trick me! How Dare you! Also someone can make me not eat anything for a day, haha.

I've to spend lots of time writing a post, but had no idea at all. Thanks to Lok for helping and improving me; actually this blog has been inspired by his. I hate school, i mean, i can never concentrate in class; i am not over-active, though. I'd rather secretly studying an english book than listening to the teacher. i think it may help me more...

The Princess Diaries is kind of easy for me to read, cuz it is all written in a diary form so that i can understand the setting more quickly. It is about a girl, Mia, who found out that she was actually a princess of Genovia one day. Although she did't wanna be a princess at first, it was a fact that could never change... I found this book on NET. It is actually a series of books; there are like eight volumes of Princess Diaries and i've only read one, i'll probably go to the public library and check for the second one, maybe i am talking too much about this book...

Swimming Gala

I nearly forget about this blog, and now i have to slap myself for a thousand timesto make sure that i keep it in mind all the time, like when someone ask me what I did to my face. I have been kind of busy with my violin even though the exam was over. I'm gonna learn a new Lalo piece; it was a Spanish Symphony. It is a new challenge for me to play a strong rhythm, a whole new style for me and being nervous will not help. This fast piece is much more difficult than i thought so i'm practising so hard on it. My neighbors may knock my door and share their feeling of it every minute. The exam had taught me that i have to be much more confidence than i am now so that i can finish this piece more effectively. Nothing can change my mind now.

I've promised you guys that after exam, i'll post some piece here. Yeah soon, cuz i have just changed my notebook into a notebook with audio driver.

Oh god! My mom is killing me, i have to sleep in 5 minutes, so i better be fast.

The swimming gala is going to be like last year and i hate it more and more as my age increases, it is a waste of time to watch them play water for about 8 hours. No mobile playing, no reading, no games, only watching. I love going to school in this case... just for one time. Before my eyes are damaged from looking at the pool too much, i have to express my feeling for this stinky day. Mom is killing me again, see ya.

Hey good, yeah perfect! I can still see, nothing serious has damaged me, cool~ About the swimming gala, it was better than i had thought. Still, no reading and no games; i hate this. I just don't understand why they are doing this to me; maybe they just think that we really LIKE swimming gala or something, or maybe we have to be polite, enjoy it. Oh shut up Mr.! We're not swimming maniacs. Our school is actually not good at swimming and not really supporting it - "Students who are good at sports, go and get prize ; otherwise, get lost and be a nerd!" that's their opinion on something not related to academics. At least i understand they're trying to say that.

Whole day off

Do you still remember the "celebration" of my exam & mid-autumn festival? Well, i did have dinner with my dad. We went to Mongkok and were looking for a better GO set: i wanna buy a real wooden board rather than a plastic chess board. You know what? Besides reversi (or othello), GO is my second favourite, though i'm still a beginner.

After walking and walking for a long way, my legs were getting tired and my stomach was trying to call for help. The one who always wants to have a lot of chaffy dish in teahouse certainly suggested having chaffy dish. All right, whatever, eating is just a process to make yourself warm and to help your stomach shut up. Yeah, we really had chaffy dish at last and ordered eight dishes; my dad is a crazy guy as usual. " A special father must have a special son", it's right, we had eaten a FAMILY SET in KFC for 4 times, which means we had to put a chicken, two potato, two corn into our stomachs within an hour for 4 times, this is my idea, haha. And now I have successfully turned my dad into a KFC hater, as well as me... Then, we ordered nine dishes and ate them all except for two noodles which cost $20, i've taken several photos of them.

Three days later, i've finally got a stomachache that would give me a whole day off, but that's not cool cuz it was a lot of pain. No one knows what shits i've eaten, except for my dad and people reading this post. Well, i forgot to post the photo of the murderer - homemade meatballs.

Yes, it's them. Firstly, they were tasteless; actually, they tasted just like human balls! I am an ogre, haha. Secondly, the first ball i ate was not hot at all cuz i've just put it into the hot water for 10 seconds, i think that is why i got sick. Never mind, i am getting better and taking a rest now, or other word, lazying.

How a freak spends his day

I've never ever thought about it! How do i spend my days to celebrate my stupid examination is over? I hate this feeling, just hanging around with nothing to do, and when you look around, you'll find that nothing is changing in the entire world except for you, and you'll figure out that it's silly to have a celebration after that silly exam. It may sound funny to someone but not me, and also not my violin, who is in the hospital the last few daysto check if there is anything on him I can spend money.

Not only my violin, the sun is not satisfied with me, there is a typhoon that brings heavy rain to me these days. Sorry for the people in HongKong, especially the tourists, for not being able to see the moon clearly on the mid-autumn festival this year.

To continue on the word “life”, tonight i've just understand another example of it. You'll never know that there is an electric shock in your mom's room that can cut the house’s power supply. Not me, mom did it, but what i can't believe is that she thinks that i have damaged it before. Poor me, sitting on the sofa like a prisoner for about 10mins, i'll take the photo later and post it cuz im still sitting on the sofa. What an updated post.

It's time of destiny, everything is destiny. That the weather affects your performance, sickness, mood is destiny. It sounds kind of unbelievable but it's true. Some other days i'll tell you about it.

Anyone there?! haha, it's good that there is only few visitors, so that i can post many meaningless articles, maybe it's good for improving my english and increase the speed of typing, whatever, mom's gonna be crazy, haha.

oh man!

Ever seen a jerk teaching others how to perform, when he actually can't do it? Well, that's me. I'm kind of sad to tell you that this is my worst exam i ever had! Pieces should be my best part, but three strings of my violin went out of tune. Guess what, the pianist couldn't heard a big different but i could, so i'm very worry about it now, if i can get distintion or what.

That's enough, i won't think about future cuz it's useless to plan such thing. I'm not gonna give up, but i'm not going to think about the word 'violinist' now, i wanna make sure it is still my favourite for a long long time, so i must learn but not plan. That's cool, i wanna tell you guys that i'm still ok and i'm gonna give up so easy cuz im strong, haha.

After these celebrating days, i'll get back in it, i prefer posting about my daily life later so wait for me!

Tips in performance

Sometimes people are just being too nervous in examinations, performances or competitions, and i'm one of those people. Although i usually did well in those, i'm sure that was luck, and i can't continue trusting luck.

Practise makes perfect, surely we'll make it perfect. Besides it, we've to make anything under control, including your emotion. I've thought about it for few months, it will really affect your performance, and also the impression of the judge or audiences. A very common example is that, when you think about nervous before perform, mostly you'll get a bad luck. Nervous must affect the result, but how to stop thinking about it? Smile, always have a nice smile on your face, it'll let you feel relax and give the judge a good impression. Be yourself all the time. Don't speak too much before or after the performance until you get home, cuz you may do something wrong very easily.

When you go to the stage, make sure you "walk" but not run, it shows other people feel that you're fully confidence. Then face the judge for a second and take a bow. Hold a second, stop thinking about others and get start. Enjoy your music during your perform, and move your body to relax yourself. Also, i've to notice you that "don't rush" cuz you may do easily! When you finish your perform, take your time, it's still your show so smile at the judge nicely and take another bow slowly, and then again 'walk' away. i'm sure if you do all these correctly, more marks you'll get.

Violin tips

Ever thought that your piece is not touching eonugh? In some of the piece(mostly in romantic period), ways of vibrato is quite important. If you play in a wrong way, it may become a boring, or ugly piece.

Usually in some expressive pieces, you need to have quite bigger, slower vibrato. To play a bigger vibrato, all you have to do is to relax your left hand, and vib. it bigger but slower, always notice your hand in the first time. But if you don't know how to vib, don't try this now, you may crush your piece with a bad intonation.

In some allegro of baroque music like Handel's, usually there are quite many half notes with staccato that you need to vib. Actually they are quite easy to get it, at least i think so. Nothing special, just vib. with the beat in your heart is enough, all the vib. should sound powerful but light, that's all. Actually, maybe someone has already known that, but never mind, i'm just sharing these things to you guys, or having a review.

My first post

I know it's not good to create a blog at this time, cuz 19thSept will be my violin grade 8 examination day, but i can't wait to start this interesting blog, so, here i am.

Well actually, i dislike exams and i have a best excuse for it. When you prepare the exam, you'll have to practise three pieces, many scales and also the aual tranning, usually i'll have to prepare them for few months, it's kind of wasting time for me. I've experienced this , when i had the grade 7 exam last year and having grade 8 exam this year, nothing change in my skill, i am sure i can learn more. Anyway, i've to do my best in it but i would make a careful plan for my diploma exam later.

After the examination, maybe i'll start recording some pieces and share with you guys, please give me some comment or ideas afterward so that i can make sure my songs can be improved and somebody will listen to it.

As a form 3 student, this year should be a important year to work hard at school, unfortunately, those teachers of my class are mostly new to our school and they are totally "reading" the books, not teaching us. Although we've to self-study the subjects, and some of them are actually new like Phys.Chem.Bio., i've nothing to nervous or feeling any exciting for this, all i care is to finish the secondary life and go to study music.

Sometimes im just thinking too far, maybe i should stop here, after the exam, if i can still remember this blog(sure will), i'll paste my picture here and update this blog quite often.
